I specialize in show quality interior work, show quality paint correction, leather decontamination, wet sanding, moderate scratch removal, steaming, ozone treatment, headlight restoration, engine detailing, professional ceramic coatings, sealants, maintenance washes for qualified existing customers, and so much more! I do not provide a mobile service, because I spend between 6-9 hours detailing your vehicle. Most mobile detailers spend between 2-3 hrs detailing your vehicle. The results are typically less than expected. Unlike the type of fine-line detailing I provide; which will be unlike anything you have ever experienced. I unfortunately do not provide estimates over the phone. This is because I would like to meet you in person and share what concerns and or needs you have for your vehicle. This is why I offer free estimate appointments.
Explanation of Detailing & Paint Correction Services:
Do you need a detail or full paint correction?
Let me provide a little information or breakdown.
What’s the difference you ask? In simple terms:
A detail is getting to the details – the cracks, crevices, addressing trim and conditioning it, conditioning leather, cleaning glass, sealing the exterior paint to protect it, cleaning the wheels, etc. This entails the basics where you go over and simply clean and condition all parts of the car. Rough time estimate is about 6-9 hours, give or take.
Paint correction, however, that’s a whole different process. This involves decontaminating the paint via clay and or de-ironizer sprays, multi-step machine compounding and polishing, re-leveling the paint to a completely flat surface so there are no scratches or swirl marks that are taking away from the gloss of the paint, correcting and polishing metal trim, and so forth. This is much more labor intensive, and will no doubt cost 2-3 times the price of a “detail”. Rough time estimate ranges depending on the size, condition, expected final results which can lead to a 12-30 hour job (3-4 days).
How do you know which one you should choose?
Well, if you are the type to always take your vehicle through the local car wash, then you should probably plan on just getting a “detail” since the car wash will rapidly ruin the finish of a full paint correction rendering it pointless. I have done full corrections on cars only to go back a month later and it would be really scratched up due to 4 car washes from the local car wash. Had the owner been hand washing it with proper technique, it would have still looked good!
If you are car crazy, always liking to drive a freshly detailed vehicle, then paint correction might be what you need. This will restore that like new condition to the paint, or better than new where there are no scratches, oxidation, swirling…just purely liquid looking paint! Paint correction is the process typically done on show cars to get that fresh paint job look, without the paint job.
Tools of the trade:
Top of the line Italian Rupes professional paint correction machines, CarPro Professional paint and surface protection, OdorStop professional grade ozone generator, Par38 Cree and Colormatch paint correction lighting, & Industrial/commercial Mytee heat extractor/steamer are just some of the tools I use to detail your vehicle(s).
What is Carpro professional coating for every vehicle surface?
Let me fill you in!
Your vehicle’s paint is a delicate surface composed of three primary layers, primer, base coat, and clear coat. On average, these layers measure between 100 to 180 microns, about the width of three human hairs! Properly maintaining and protecting your vehicle’s paint is crucial. Here at Shine Dr. Auto Spa, our go-to products for long lasting protection are CarPro Professional CQuartz Coatings!
We are the only professionally accredited installer in Thurston County!
The conventional method of protecting a car’s paint is carnuba wax which is a quick and easy way to add a thin layer of protection to your car while improving it’s shine. Unfortunately, most conventional waxes will only last a few weeks. Polymer-based sealants are a newer technology that utilize synthetic products meant to replicate the results of a wax. These products offer are an increased lifespan, offering 4-8 weeks of protection. Waxes and sealants do have one major drawback however, they are highly susceptible to environmental contaminants and many car care products. Bird droppings, UV rays, hard water, tree sap, acid rain, and touchless car wash soaps may remove the protection on your vehicle and damage the paint underneath. Environmental Damage, Bird droppings, tree sap, acid rain, and most presoak touchless wash sprays are acidic (low on the pH scale). These products slowly etch into your paint, leaving an unsightly mark that may require an expensive paint job. Furthermore, as the damage intensifies, the clear coat on your paint may begin to fail, causing cloudiness, cracking, and flaking. Hard water deposits and touchless car wash soaps are basic (high on the pH scale). Hard water deposits may etch into the paint, leaving spots that must be polished or sanded off. Touchless car wash soaps aggressively clean your car, stripping away wax while removing dirt. UV rays from the sun can oxidize and dry out your paint. This may lead to premature clear coat failure and paint cloudiness.
